Upgrading to Version 9

This article outlines key considerations for upgrading to version 9 from prior versions of ResourceFirst.

Orientation

• To orient yourself to the Version 9 User Interface, be sure to read the following articles:

• If you will be entering time in ResourceFirst, read:

Logistics

• Plan on 1-2 days duration for the upgrade which includes time for admin/user validation
• A new API means all interfaces will require updating as well so plan that in accordingly
• A new URL suffix should be included in communication plans
  • The “\account\login” is changing to just “\login”
  • Users with saved bookmarks will need to replace or update
  • Organizations with Single-Sign-On (SSO) implemented may need to update intranet launch pages
• No other impact to user accounts

Considerations

• Field based scripts (e.g. Post Edit & Validation) should work but warrant analysis
• Form based scripts (e.g. Before Show, Next & Back) should work but warrant analysis
• Pulse scripts (e.g. notifications & automations) should work but warrant analysis
• Custom Qlik reports should work but also warrant analysis
• Version 8.x is planned for end of life some time in 2025 (exact date TBD)
