User Options

This article describes the User Options dialog which controls several formatting and calculation operations.

Overview

The User Options dialog is launched by clicking the User Options icon in the User Settings icon menu at the upper right of the screen.

Allocation

Show Allocation Colors – Turn resource supply-demand gap highlighting on or off on the Assignments page and any page that shows colors for level of shortfall.

Allocate to Initiated Projects – Considers assignments to Initiated Projects in all allocation supply-demand gap calculations.

Allocate to Requests – Considers open requests in all allocation supply-demand gap calculations.

Include Assignment States in Calculation

By default, assignments with any Assignment State are included in calculations.

If you have an Assignment State value “Proposed” or “Soft-Booked”, you may want to exclude those assignment states in resource supply-demand allocation calculations.

This impacts the Assignments page, Demand page, and any page that shows allocation, shortfall, and supply-demand gap colors.

For more on Assignment States, see Administering Lists (in the section on Assignment States) and Server Settings and General Defaults (in the section on the Allocation Algorithm).

Cost Calculation

Apply User Cost Rate – On the currency page of Administration, there is an option to include a “user” rate in addition to the standard rate. If this option is checked, the alternative “user” rate is used in labor cost calculation.

Show Cost in Default Currency – Convert all country-specific labor costs to the default currency.

If labor assignments are associated with a country and the countries have an associated currency, labor costs displayed on the assignment page are expressed in the country-specific currency.

If there are multiple currencies, the row and column totals are incorrect.

If this checkbox is checked, all currencies are converted to the default and the totals are accurate and meaningful.

Skills

The dialog to show/hide skills on the Skills Matrix is activated.

Unclick the visible checkbox to hide the skill column on the Skill Matrix page.
