Project Ranking
This article shows how to create an overall ranking score for a project using configurable ranking fields. The scores for comparable can then be used in setting priorities for the projects.

Overview
There are four steps in establishing a consolidated rank value a project.
(Assuming that rank fields and lists have been configured in the administration module in accordance with the organization’s ranking process).
Select Ranking Fields – On the Project>Data-Detail>Ranking page, select all the rank fields that are to be used for ranking projects of this type.
Set Field Values – Select a list item for each list type field and enter a value for each numeric field.
Select a Formula – Select the formula for calculating a consolidated rank score for this type of project.
TIP: Create the project from a template that has the correct rank fields and formula loaded. Then the only step required is to set field values.
Adjust for a Consistent Portfolio Ranking – Good practice then calls for a process in which the scores of all related projects are reviewed together and adjusted to establish a credible relative ranking.

How To
Entering Scoring Criteria
Step 1: Go to the Projects>Data-Detail>Ranking page for the project.
Step 2: Click the “+” icon in the upper left to open the Add Rank Field dialog.

Select individual rank “criteria” fields or click the checkbox next to the “Rank Field” column header to select all fields.
Step 3: Click the Add button to add the selected fields.
Step 4: Click on the Value column dropdown on each row to set a rank value for that ranking criterion.
This sets a Score value for each ranking criterion.
Step 5: Click the Current Score Formula drop-down and select a formula

This defines the formula to use for calculating a consolidated ranking score from all the individual criteria scores for this project.
The consolidated ranking score is displayed at the bottom of the page in the Score column.
Step 6: Click the Save icon in the upper right to save your changes.
The scores can then be viewed and updated on the Analysis>Ranking page.
Portfolio Ranking
All fields on this page are editable.
Step 1: Go to the Analysis>Ranking page.
Step 2: Select the desired Project Data view in the upper right View control.

Step 3: Modify rank criteria fields or Project Data fields as desired.
Step 4: Click the Save icon to save changes to the database.
Save on the Analysis>Ranking page saves changes to Project Data fields, including any changes made previously on the Project>Data page itself.
