Project Workspace Overview

This article gives an introduction to the Project Workspace, where project managers can plan and manage their projects.


Selecting an Individual Project Workspace

Individual project workspaces are accessed by clicking on the resource name hyperlink in rows (records) on other pages such as Resources > Assignments or Projects > Project Data or Projects > Assignments.


Clicking on the project name and then the arrow to the right of the name, brings up the individual project workspace:


The “hamburger” icon at the upper right of the page controls which workspace detail pages are available in the navigation menu. The use of each page is described in separate articles, linked to below.


Project Info – Presents project forms for updating project attributes and status. See Project Info Page for more.

Assignments – Where skill and resource assignments are viewed, requested, and entered for the project. See Assignments Overview and its related sub-articles for more.

Financials – Where the financial forecast by financial category/item is entered. See Project Financials for more.

Output Modeler – Allows effort to be calculated based on algorithms. Article coming soon!

Status History – Shows a history of submitted status reports. See Project Status Reporting for more.

Scheduler – Allows creation and maintenance of a detailed project task schedule. This creates a tab called “Gantt” on the Project Workspace. See Project Task Scheduling for more.

Demand – Shows the demand summary for all projects, including areas of shortfall, allowing for a what-if analysis if selected projects are shifted forward or backward in time. See Project (Portfolio) Demand for more.

Workflow – Allows approvals and document upload notifications to be set up, tied to specific project stages. Article coming soon!

Ranking – Allows entry of project scores, such as strategic fit, financial impact, and more. See Project Ranking and Scoring. Also see Setting up Scoring and Ranking Criteria in Administration for how to configure scoring criteria.

Distribution – This allows project numbers to be allocated (distributed by percentage) to selected categories. See Project Distribution (Article Coming Soon!)

Events – Allows the entry and maintenance of project risks, issues, outcomes, and other events. See Project Events, Risks and Issues for more.

Documents – Allows the upload of documents to be associated with the project. See Project Documents.

Discussion – Allows a for comment thread associated with the project. See Project Discussion.
