Saving Data
This Document can be found in the following categories:
Select menu DATABASE>SAVE DATA to save changes to the
database.
Resource managers should
periodically save data to the database during a session to
prevent loss of work in the unlikely event of an unrecoverable
system problem.
All changed rows in the front
end file are saved to the database if data has been checked
out.
Both resource
and project data are saved
if both are checked out. There is no option to save one and not the
other.
NOTE WELL:
FILE->SAVE and FILE>SAVE
AS commands save your current, working data to a local
PDWare Portfolio file, but do NOT save the data to the database.
Prompt for Save to Database
If you have any database locks AND have changed
any data that are contained in the database, the dialog below
appears if you select any of the following commands
- CLOSE (the data file),
- DATA>GET DATA,
- FILE>NEW,
- FILE>OPEN

If you select YES or NO and
DROP LOCKS is checked, the locks on the current
node(s) are cleared. Locks you may have on other nodes are not
affected.
If you have
made changes and want verification that the data correct in the database, select menu command
database-Get Data and click the Yes button on this dialog to save
data before the Get operation. The Get Data will then get the data you
just saved.
