To view the effort forecast grid, click 'Portfolio Management' in
the menu header and select 'Effort Forecast'
You will be directed to the 'Effort Forecast' page which displays
all resource and skill assignments for the nodes selected in the
Get Data dialog. 'Save Data' is available if you have R1 or
greater resource rights, .
Effort values and comments for existing assignments can be edited
by clicking in the appropriate cell and changing the value. Click
'Save Data' to save the new values to the database.
Click the 'Insert Assignment' button to create a new resource
,skill, or Non-Labor assignment.
A resource node and a project must be selected to insert an
After selecting a resource node the candidate list will populate
with available resources from the selected node. 'Show Assigned'
must be checked to view resources already assigned to the selected
project. An asterisk in front of the name identifies resources
assigned to the selected project.
To narrow the results to resources with a specific skill, select
the skill from the skill dropdown and place a check mark in the
'Filter by Skill' checkbox.
Highlight the resource(s) to be assigned in the candidate list and
click on the 'Insert Assignment' button.
To insert a skill assignment, toggle the Skills button and add an
assignment as described for resources.
Inserting Effort Values
After the dialog has been closed the new assignments will be shown
on the grid. Enter effort values for applicable periods.
Note : Inserting a new assignment or changing the value in the
comment or effort value fields will automatically check the box to
the left of the row
When the button 'Save Data' is clicked, all rows with a checkmark
on the left will be saved to the database.
Save as Requests
When the button 'Save as Requests' is clicked, all rows with a
checkmark on the left will be saved as requests to the database.
New requests will stay visible in the effort grid until the data is
refreshed by either moving to another page or initiating a Get
